After resolving to SCOUT THE AREA, following a BEEP from the door module, you hear a click, and your cabin door finally slides open, revealing a long corridor of ensign cabins like yours. It almost feels longer than you remember; you begin to worry that you may have been asleep for longer than you initially thought, but you set that thought aside, assuring yourself that your vision is messing with you.
Immediately, you make for the elevator at the end of the hall, hoping to find any officers and find out what's happening. As you approach the door, however, you realize that the keypad that normally accompanies the elevator has been replaced with an unfamiliar card reader. You slam on the elevator door, as if it were somehow possible for someone to open it from the other side.
You turn around, taking an opportunity to assess the situation, and suddenly you hear another loud BEEP. A series of clicks cascade through the hallway, as the doors to the other nine officer cabins slide open. You feel relieved that you have more to investigate, but you also feel anxious that this might be more than a simple power outage, wondering if you've been intentionally confined to this hallway. With no other options, you decide to explore the other ensign cabins.
