SOLUTION: HOOKED ON PHONICS

ANSWER: SOFT VOICE

The text snippets in the given table are taken from English translations of different Vocaloid songs originally in Japanese; in particular, solvers will find that these lyrics are the first lines of songs as translated and sung by the YouTuber JubyPhonic (confirmed by the puzzle title). The lyrics can be assembled by taking one snippet from each column, but importantly, a letter has to be inserted between the snippets to complete the lyrics. The highlighted left column is used as the ordering, supported by the second and third columns each being given in alphabetical order. The lyrics are:

Title Lyrics
A Female Ninja, But I Want to Love Dojo class I'll Skip anOther bye bye / 15 years yet a newbie at this girl ninja thing
Aishite Aishite Aishite FaR far away in a time and a place / Lived a necklace winding asTray
Hibikase Midnight I’m on and aching, signal to mE awaking / 12 AM, minutes passing and Drunk on har-mo-ny
Hitorinbo Envy Easily playing, never Bat an eYe / Weeping and posing, another perfect alibi
Kagerou Days August 15th at 12:30 noon I don't see a cloud aboVe / The sun Is shining down, what a pretty day
LUVORATORRRRRY! Breaking all the right rules, with your programming tools / "I like you...or not" Do you take mE for a fool?
Rolling Girl LOnely girl is dreaming all the Day / Of things she knows are far away
Sweet Magic I’ll make a treat so sweet And full of fun / But I wanna hide a little biT of love
World Is Mine Say I’m the best and bow to your princEss #1 / You Should know I get my way, all morning, noon, night and, day, okay?

The missing letters, in the given order, spell out SORTED BY VIDEO DATES. Following this instruction, solvers then must sort the songs by the dates they were uploaded to JubyPhonic's channel (making sure to use the original uploads, as some songs have other versions that were uploaded to her channel later):

Title Upload Date
Kagerou Days September 16th, 2012
Rolling Girl December 28th, 2012
A Female Ninja, But I Want to Love May 24th, 2013
LUVORATORRRRRY! April 4th, 2014
Hitorinbo Envy March 1st, 2016
World Is Mine May 30th, 2016
Aishite Aishite Aishite January 8th, 2017
Sweet Magic December 10th, 2017
Hibikase January 17th, 2020

After sorting properly, solvers can index into the song titles via the bottom list to obtain this puzzle's answer, SOFT VOICE. Solvers should note that while most of these songs have one commonly accepted title translation, others have different competing translations (such as "Heat Haze Days" sometimes being used instead of "Kagerou Days"); in these cases, the title used in the JubyPhonic video should be used for indexing.

About This Puzzle

Only as I'm writing this does it occur to me that the title pun here does double duty (hooks often being the first lines of songs); only the "phonics" pun was intended, but I will gladly take credit for the first pun as well.

This is one of a few puzzles that had slight changes in mechanics when being adapted for the hunt website. The original version of this puzzle provided the fully intact lyrics, with the letters in question replaced with question marks instead of being omitted. I liked this slight change in presentation, as the fact that letters are missing at all is now an "aha" moment as opposed to a given. There were plenty of JubyPhonic covers to choose from for this puzzle, so I opted for some of the more popular Vocaloid songs in hopes that Vocaloid fans could potentially recognize some of the songs without having to do much Googling.
